SHORT NOTICE but if anyone is interested in helping
with the effort...
Clean Up by Noon 9/1/04
The Cultural Heritage Commission of the City of
Los Angeles is visiting the site on Wed. 9/1/04
sometime between noon and 3PM to decide
whether Belmont should be declared a Historic
Site for the Train Tunnel as well as the Graffiti
Art murals. It would be great if the place was a
little bit cleaner. I am prettty sure the City does
not clean up in there any more since it is privately
owned property.
If this Commission declares the site a historic
landmark, no building permit can be issued for
up to 6 months, and there can be one extension
of this up to 6 more months. This is one of our
best hopes for preservation.
