The Rob One All Stars

On Thursday, March 16, 2000, Hip Hop lost a Los Angeles legend by the
name of Kool DJ Rob One. Those who know the name know the legacy he
left behind and how he impacted the scene in this city and beyond. For the
unfamiliar, recognize that this man stands among giants... An early innovator,
Rob was part of the infamous Fly ID Show, along with Goner and EMZ.
Together, they gave the LA airwaves one of the illest radio shows on the dial.
Not to be forgotten is the role Rob played in the graffiti scene as a member of
the legendary CBS (Can't Be Stopped) Crew and later, the Lords.

A long standing member of the Zulu Nation's LA chapter, Rob also held it
down as the DJ for the graff/rap group The Shapeshifters. From coast to
coast, Rob was recognized as one of those cats whose knowledge of Hip
Hop history and culture was precise, thorough and well-respected. Anyone
who knew him would agree that it was a blessing to be in his presence... This
Thursday, March 16, 2006 marks six years since Rob's passing and the
Root Down is hosting an Allstar Throwdown in his honor. This will be a
gathering of some of the family and friends who knew him best, including
Prince Whipper Whip, Marvski, Charlie Tuna, Truly Odd, Mr. Choc, 1987,
Kiilugrand, DJ Daz, DJ Hier and a host of others. Guaranteed to be the
sureshot, you don't want to miss this tribute to one of our greatest hometown
heroes. In loving memory....
