A Lecture by Famed New York City Graffiti Artist
Friday, February 27, 2004 @ 8:00 PM
Keller Hall, University of New Mexico Campus (Albuquerque, New Mexico)
STAR OF "WILD STYLE"/AS FEATURED IN "STYLE WARS"
For the first time in the Southwest region, hear the most influential artist
of the New York City subway graffiti movement speak on the “constructive
deconstruction†of the art form within modern Hip-Hop culture and the
evolution of his groundbreaking career.
Includes a slide show coinciding with a musical voyage to accompany three
segments of nostalgic and contemporary imagery: The dawn of the subway age;
the evolution of Lee’s style, canvas and mural works; and never before seen
photographs from Lee’s private collection.
