Contest on
Saturday July 21, 2012
Free community event and art contest brings together graffiti artists and local
youth to inspire creativity, celebrate culture and empower leadership

WHAT:
The 13th Black Book Sessions event includes a series of participatory
workshops and
art demonstrations by well-known graffiti, fine art and computer artists
including MURAL,
Munk One, MAXX242, VYAL One, FEARNO One, and ESIC One. The event
will also
include live artist painting, raffles, DIY booths, arts and crafts, street art, and
food
vendors. The highlight of the day will be the displaying, judging and awarding of
prizes to
winners of the Black Book Sessions13 art contest.

Black Book Sessions is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the
empowerment of young artists. Events are geared toward art education,
community spirit and exposure to successful artists and companies in the
design industry.

This one-day event, to be held at Westwood College – Anaheim Campus on
Saturday, July 21, 2012, is free and open to the public.

CONTEST:
Artists from 9 to 25 years of age are invited to bring their best work to the
event to submit for
competition. Entry forms can be downloaded at
www.blackbooksessions.organd
www.facebook.com/blackbookworld. Art must be submitted at the event (see
website for details)
on July 21 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Drawings and paintings in natural mediums will be accepted. Computer
generated art, sculpture and photography are not allowed. Prizes will be
awarded at the end of the day to winners in three age categories (9-13; 14-17;
and 18-25). Winners will receive prize packages of art supplies and swag from
the event sponsors.
