Ilegal Skuad along with 4+1 and LoveGalo present: Abriendo El
Border-Los Angeles/Mexico City Tour 2007, a tour that presents and
highlights graffiti book, The History of Los Angeles Graffiti Art
Volume 1 1983â€“1988, and whose publicity will also give leverage to its
literary sequel Volume 2 1989-1994, scheduled for release in Spring
2008.

Abriendo El Border will be taking place December 1 to December 3,
2007 in Mexico City. The tour will consist of having a live graffiti
demonstration, a book signing event, and a graffiti expo with over 120 graffiti
artists from all four corners of Mexico.

The book signing and book presentation will be at, appropriately titled,
Border Gallery on December 1, 2007 and in good company of a live
graffiti demonstration by Los Angeles Graffiti Artists: Relax, Vyal, Wisk, Cab,
Spurn, Frame, Severe & LA/GDL Graffiti Pioneer MakeOne from 4pm to
7pm. The book signing and presentation will also be at Border Gallery,
December 1, 2007 from 8pm to 11pm. A slideshow of images from the book,
a DVD presentation, a screening of the trailer to the documentary Graffiti
12oz, soon to be released in 2008, a panel discussion with Q&A, book
signing, and a blackbook session will launch this eagerly awaited tour.

On December 2nd from 9am to 4pm Abriendo El Border Graffiti Expo
will take place at a prime location in Mexico City due to its public accessibility.
It will be a collaborative mural painting of over 120 artists from Mexico and
the invited artists from Los Angeles. All will be painting on a 2,000 square foot
wall in Mexico City in The Casino. A location used primarily for large expos
and exhibits.

Abriendo El Border will be a historical eventâ€”a first of its kind for both Los
Angeles and Mexico City. It will attempt to bring to rest any discrepancies or
disbelief the world has on only giving recognition to countries/cities that
people know have played a major role in the art of Graffiti. This will be a time
to embrace a country filled with artists and include them in the evolution of the
world of Graffiti. Abriendo El Border is aptly titled in Spanglish and is the
starting point to bring the tour to its complete fruition.
