A 3-DAY FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR ARTIST KEITH TAMASHIRO

Los Angeles, CA - On January 31, 2006, our dear friend Keith Tamashiro,
suffered a cerebral aneurysm. Although he is entering his eleventh week at
the UCLA Medical Center, he has consistently been performing miracle after
miracle, and we are happy to share that he is on the road to a complete
recovery. A three-day series of benefit events to take place on: Wed. May
24, Evil Monito Art Space at 7pm, Los Angeles / Thurs. May 25, The Mayan
Theatre at 7pm, Los Angeles / Fri. May 26 at 7pm, The Warfield, San
Francisco / Fri. May 26, The Little Temple, Silverlake & Temple Bar, Santa
Monica at 9pm.
I SEE YOU is a benefit event(s) for artist Keith Tamashiro. Though many do
not know Keith by name, the power of his art speaks magnitudes. Many in
the music industry regard Keith as an innovative graphic artist, with a keen
eye towards the cutting-edge, and a distinctive point of view. For more than a
decade, Keith’s work has graced the covers of countless albums, including
artists from MCA, Transparent Music, Warner Bros., Interscope and Geffen
record labels, such as Blink-182, Herbie Hancock, Ashlee Simpson, Damian
Marley, the design award-winning DJ Shadow’s The Private Press, and
Jurassic 5 establishing his place as a forerunner in his field.
In 1999, Keith and Gabriela Lopez, started Soap Design Co., a design studio
based in Silverlake. They specialize in music packaging, promotional
merchandise, art and theatre organizations, and fashion merchandise, to
name a few. As a native Angeleno, Keith has used his position and influence
to give back to his community by contributing his skills and talent to pro bono
projects such as Keepintime/Mochilla and Blue Chips boutique in Highland
Park. Soap Design Co. has also made contributions to such organizations as
Aleim Johnson’s knowtribe and the Delancey Street Foundation. Now it is our
turn to show our love and appreciation to Keith.
WORD-OF-MOUTH MEETS BR**NFREEZE happening on Thursday, May
25, is a benefit concert hosted by a group of close friends, artists, and
colleagues. inwhich all proceeds will go toward Keith’s medical expenses and
rehabilitation. The legendary “Word-of-Mouth†tour which featured the Beat
Junkies, Dilated Peoples, MC Supernatural, and Jurassic 5; and the
internationally acclaimed “Br**nfreeze†tour which featured Cut Chemist and
DJ Shadow, will gather together on stage, one last time, and for two nights
only, one being in Keith’s hometown of Los Angeles. All of the
abovementioned artists, along with surprise special guests have donated
their time to perform at this special event to honor and support their close
friend Keith.
I SEE YOU is a three-day series of benefit events to take place Memorial
Day week/weekend. 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS from each event will go
