City of Los Angeles Urban Cityscapes
The City of Los Angeles has been influenced by urban art since the early nineteen eighties; many murals have gone up throughout the city changing the city's landscape. Since the early eighties urban art was introduced to LA through Graffiti art, murals and other media such as dance and music and has now entered into main-stream pop culture. One of the most influential landscapes has been the Belmont Tunnel, an abandoned metro rail lot that was used by many young artists as a training ground for developing their art skills. In this exhibition a photo documentation by Ben Higa, Eriberto Oriol and Secret, will take the viewer on a visual journey through time looking at walls and the urban graff life styles. Along with the photos will be a written expose by Inka one.
Other Artists will also exhibit examples of urban art and their unique style and flavor. Artists such as Zender One, Duce one, Rick aka Crime, Cre8, Sano, Mig one, Scud, Vox and Arturo Gonzalez.
Artist Shandu one will create a three dimensional model of the Belmont Tunnel. This Art exhibition was curated and conceived by: John Zender.
This exhibition cannot encapsulate the importance of this subject
But hopes it can inspire a much greater show in the future.
